July 17th: Things we did todayI wanted to write about it because it was fun and I never roller skated before.
Fished in the reservoir
I like fishing because you have to be patient and patient is my thing, so I like it, but the worms were dead and the rod was just bad.
Canoed and threw rubber chickens
I wrote about this because Chanti was there with us and I got a lot of points from my rubber chicken. What you do with the rubber chickens is basically paddle around and throw ‘em at each other. If you get them in the other person’s boat: Bam! You get a point. I was the gunner for my boat.

Rode shotgun
I never rode shotgun in my whole entire life. I like riding shotgun because you get to turn on and off the air conditioning.
Watched lightening storm
I wrote about this because I’d never seen lightening in my whole entire life before except once. I remember looking at the dark gray sky. We listed to Sigur Ros. It sounded like music from the heavens. I sort of felt spooked because we were watching it from an old farmstead - it made my feel like we were among ghosts.
Shot arrow at a dinosaur I wrote about this because I hit him in right in the thigh, also got him right in the shin, then I got him in the stomach. Mommy got a bull’s eve.
Got a blister
I wrote about this because a blister hurts. It was on my foot. At least I could walk. I think I still have it.
Watched Cambodian danceI wrote about this because it was so beautiful. It had a white monkey and a mermaid. The white monkey kept wringing his hands because of a knife he was holding. He didn’t’ even hurt himself.
Saw full moon come up
It was like a blood moon.
Made some new friends
I wrote about this because my friends were cool and funny. What was funny about one of my friend’s was that he called himself “Ice Cream”. We liked called someone Dino because her name was Dina. I have a couple friends: one named Molly, who was not in my group, one named Daphne, and her brother named Ryan.
Paul went on the zipline
I wrote about this because the zipline was like 20 feet high – might have been 20 yards high. And he didn’t fall. I don’t think he liked it.
July 18th
Went to a Water Festival
Blew bubbles on the lake and they stayed on the water for three seconds.
I wrote about this because I still have it and it has termite designs in it.
Made a spirit house
I wrote about this because spirit houses are good luck, I think, I made a small figure on it, and I painted the top silver. Red is a really lucky color. I put red on the sides.
I played steal the bacon and I hurt myself

Steal the bacon is where you get numbers and someone yells out your number and there’s another player with your number. You have to run to get the bacon in the middle.
I learned the basic steps in Cambodian dancing
I like one of them because it’s flapping like a birdie. I know of a few of the hand signals. One is ‘deep’ and one is ‘lia’.
We went to a picnic and I had a bit of curry
"We’re blogging right now, daddy, so can you please be a little bit quiet?"
July 19th: Things I did yesterday

I went to a party that had lost of cookies
My mom did a lot of dances – the shrimp, the electric slide, dep and lia (right, left, right, back), and the butterfly
We made brickettes that are used for making fires, made out of sawdust, paper and water.
The brickettes were really stinky.
We did kickboxing
We got toI wrote about this because I felt like we were in jiu-jitsu. There were three teachers. kick the pads and punch some pads.
We made Angkor Wat shapes out of
clayI wanted to write about this because Angkor Wat is very important to Cambodian. I think it’s very important because – I don’t know, I can’t tell. It’s a little personal and I can’t really tell what I feel.
